HACCP
We have engineered an extensive HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) program that
encompasses all our rendering facilities and blending plants. This program identifies potential
hazards associated with the rendering/blending processes and executes preventative measures to
reduce the risk of product contamination. Some examples of critical control points are:
- Inspection of raw material before it enters the plant.
- Verification that the cooker is at the proper temperature.
- Checking the hammermill and shaker screens to ensure uniform grind.
- Ensuring the tanker/trailer is clean prior to loading material.
- Verifying the amount and type of stabilizer added to fats and oils.
- This comprehensive program involves extensive record keeping and monitoring to ensure the
safety of animal by-products produced by MOPAC Rendering. Our rendering plant personnel are APPI
trained and certified in HACCP.
